Golf Courses

The La Finca Championship Golf CourseSpain is a top destination for golf lovers and has a particularly suitable climate from September through to May or June. On average there are 300 days of sunshine during the year, gentle winds and good visibility. The area around Torrevieja has several excellent golf courses to suit various tastes.

La Finca Championship course

Destined for Spanish Open and Ryder Cup status once the new Club House and 5 star hotel have been finalised, the 6,394 metre La Finca Championship course was planned by Pepe Gancedo, the prestigious Spanish designer, and opened in 2002. Its tricky fast greens and Bermuda grass fairways offer the greatest variation of any course in the Costa Blanca, and lie at the foot of Mount Escotera in natural surroundings of great beauty. Adjacent orange and lemon groves, old olive trees, several lakes with running water and reed beds not only enhance its visual appeal but are also home to a wide variety of migratory birds.

On the 5th the ball has to be hit onto an island green; and the 17th is protected by a large lake. In addition the course has a reserve hole so that even if one of the holes is closed off unexpectedly, players are still able to complete a full 18-hole round.
